Our Refuge

Psalm 9:9-10
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

"Father, thank You for these words of encouragement. You are our refuge when we are oppressed and in times of trouble, Someone we can put our trust in, because You have not, and will not, forsake us. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

This is such a great verse. God is our refuge when we are oppressed and in trouble. This isn't just 'he's got a gun!' trouble or something. It doesn't say 'The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of physical threats'. It's whenever we are in trouble. There's no specification. He's always there for us.

The second verse is that people who truly know Him (knowing His name back then was a close relationship) will put their trust in Him, because He doesn't forsake those who seek Him.

Have you ever wondered why people turn from God? This verse talks about those who know His name will trust Him. Do you think people aren't Christians because they disagree with a Bible verse, or because they don't know the true God? (Response Question)

In His Service,
Joyce
