Response to Persecution

Our OBC is... Annas! (Ananias was Sapphira's husband, didn't tithe correctly, lied to God about it...)
Acts 4:18-20
So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

Annas and the group told John (the disciple) and Peter, but their response was, to paraphrase, 'You decide if we should listen to you instead of God, because we have to say what we saw and heard.'

I hope that we can have the same response to people who try to make us stop talking about God. They were completely non-judgemental, and let the group decide for themselves what was right, but they didn't bow to anyone else's opinion or beliefs.

So this next week's Obscure Biblical Character:
-was a rebellious Old Testament prophet
-said a big prayer in a strange place
-had a whale of a tale to tell his friends

Your choices are:
Micah
Jonah
Hosea
Daniel

In His Service,
Joyce

PS Response Question
a. Where did you see Jesus in the verse for today?
b. How would you paraphrase Peter and John's response?

I'll try to get the quiz up ASAP, but I currently don't have power at my house.
