The Threats of Jezebel

1 Kings 19:2-3

I'm running a bit late today, so I don't have time to post the verse.

The Obscure Biblical Character is... Jezebel! She threated Elijah after Elijah had the victory on Mount Carmel, and Elijah got scared and ran away.

Elijah went through a kind of depressed, almost suicidal period as he was running away. He asked God to take him then, because he wasn't any better than his fathers. (Response Question: Why wasn't he any better than his fathers?)

But in verses 5-8, God takes care of him and gives him food so that he can keep journeying for his safety. God takes care of us in the same way.

So this next week's Obscure Biblical Character:
-a king of Persia
-ruled during time of Ezra
-is in the book of Ezra.

In His Service,
Joyce
