Cast Your Burdens

Psalm 55:22 NKJV
Cast your burden on the LORD,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

"Father, thank You for these words of encouragement, and thank You most of all that they are true. We can cast our burdens on You, and You will take care of us, and not let us be moved or slip and fall. You are our Rock, God. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

This is kind of what we were talking about when we named this Bible Study "Rocktalk". God is our Rock, the one we can cling to in trials, and stand on top of in triumph. This Rock saves us when we need it, and we can cast our burdens on Him and He will sustain us.

Notice it doesn't specify what kinds of burdens we can cast on the Lord. It isn't just financial, or whatever. It's any burden you have. You can pray to God and ask Him to take it from you, and lay it at His feet. He'll take it. The stress will come off your shoulders, and it's the greatest feeling in the world.

Those who are righteous (remember, righteous doesn't equal perfect/never sinned, it means saved/godly) God will take burdens from, and He won't let them be moved. Other versions say 'slipped' or 'fall' or 'fail'.

Our encouragement tonight: God takes whatever burdens we have if we ask Him to and we give them to Him, He'll keep us safe, and if we're saved/belonging to Him, He'll keep us from falling.

In His Service,
Joyce
