I've Always Loved You

I've Always Loved You, by Third Day

I don't know how to explain it
But I know that words will hardly do
Miracles with signs and wonders
Aren't enough for me to prove to you

1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but
in deed and in truth.

Don't you know I've always loved you
Even before there was time
Though you turn away
I'll tell you still
Don't you know I've always loved you
And I always will

1 John 4:19 We love Him because he first loved us.

Greater love has not a man
Than the one who gives his life to prove
That he would do anything
And that's what I'm going to do for you

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life
for his friends.

This song is a love note from God, kind of like Song of Solomon, but not quite (the whole 'one's in the Bible the other is a Third Day song' part).

God loves us more than any person ever could. That's why Jesus is my Valentine. Remember that series we did forever ago where we just took Jesus quotes? Did you fall in love with this Jesus then? If not, or even if you did, try making Him your Valentine this year. Tell Him how much you love him, spend the day with Him. Instead of going to a movie with someone else, stay at home and spend the night with Him, just talking to Him and listening to Him. It isn't weird, even if you're a guy!

'But that's un-Biblical, Joyce. God doesn't love us like THAT!'. Ever read Song of Solomon? God loves us perfectly and completely, more than any person every could. That includes a future spouse, and a current boy/girl friend. He'll never break up with us, never pressure us for sinful acts, never cheat on us. He, however, will always love us, will do anything for us, and will keep us safe. That beats a 'person' for Valentine's Day, in my mind, at least.

In His Service,

We all know God loves us, so who else is going to make Jesus their Valentine (or at least one of their Valentines)?

That's interesting Joyce. I've always looked at valentine's day as an earthly thing. When I stop to think about it though, it is SAINT Valentine's day, So why not claim Jesus as my Valentine. Thanks for opening my eyes.
