Have in Jesus' Words Before Proof

John 4:49-51
The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”
Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”

The story goes on to say that the son was healed at the same time Jesus said he would be, but we’re focusing on this for today.

The nobleman cried out to Jesus, ‘Sir, my son is dying! Help me!’. Jesus told him that everything would be okay, and that the son would live.

When Jesus told him that, the nobleman didn’t worry, he just went his own way. He had faith that Jesus was right. And Jesus proved him right. He healed his son, just like He said He would.

The man had faith in Jesus to heal His son, so much faith that when Jesus said the words, he didn’t need the proof to believe Him.

In His Service,
Joyce

What does this man have to teach us about faith and Jesus?

The line from an old hymn that I love comes to mind, "trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey". Or how about the line in the bible that says...."if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move a mountain"... or something like that. Then there is the line that goes something like..." faith is the hope of things not seen"... "only believe, only believe, all things are possible, only believe" another line from a great old hymn. Sorry, I got carried away. Thanks for the blog, it's awesome!

No, don't apologize, it's great! I'd rather people get carried away than never respond to anything. Besides, all of your lines/verses were great.

Thanks for the encouragment. It's nice to know that others are reading it and like it.
