The Greatest Of These

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abide faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a day to show love. Love is greater than hope and greater than faith.

Faith, hope, and love all live, though. They’ll live as long as God lives.

Why is love so important to God? Because He loves us. Because that’s how others know that we’re His, by our love. Because He wants His children to play nice. To God, love is important.

So on this coming Sunday, remember what God tells us about love. It abides, and of faith, hope, and love, it’s the greatest. It’s patient and kind and perseveres, et cetera. No matter what we’re doing, God loves us, and we’re supposed to love those around us. Let’s make it our goal this Valentine’s Day.

In His Service,
Joyce

What do you think the Bible means when it says 'the greatest of these things?'. My dictionary has 17 defintions for 'great'. Does it mean long lasting, much, important, powerful, or what?
