Grain and Wine and Oil!

Joel 2:18-19
Then the LORD will be zealous for His land,
And pity His people.
The LORD will answer and say to His people,
“ Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil,
And you will be satisfied by them;
I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.

"God, thank You for these words. Thank You for this reminder about how You have pity for us, and You will help us, even when we don't deserve it. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Another Encouragement Day! I had to look up 'zealous', which means enthusiastic.

So before these two verses, the Bible says that the priests begged God for mercy for their people, for His name's sake. This is God's response to it.

When we ask God for mercy and forgiveness, He will give it to us. He will send us what we need to survive (in the Israelites, grain and wine and oil), so other people don't reproach us.

Why does He do this? Because He loves us. Why does He love us? That's a question we'll have to ask Him when we meet Him. Why does any father love their children after they have made mistake after mistake?

In His Service,
Joyce

Have you heard a good answer to the question "Why does God love us?"?
