Salvation by Grace, through Faith

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before-hand that we should walk in them.

We can’t do anything work to make God let us into Heaven. There is nothing we can do. We don’t deserve Heaven, and volunteering at a soup kitchen, or memorizing John 3:16 or whatever, although good deeds that will help us in our ministries and walks, will not make things any easier for us in terms of God forgiving us. Our sin is too great.

We don’t even have the faith ourselves to do anything. God has to give that to us, too! But He wants to give us faith, because He wants us to accept His grace. He wants us to go to Heaven and be with Him.

So if He wants us to go to heaven, why would there be a hell? Why can’t we all just go to Heaven? Why would a loving God send people to hell?

He offered us an invitation to Heaven. He said, ‘Here’s My Son, here’s what you have to do. You can choose what happens next.’. So now the question is: will you take His invitation? Here’s how to take it:

“God, I know that I am a sinner, worthy of being cast forever from Your presence. But I also know that Jesus came down to die on the cross for my sins, and then He rose again. I ask, Lord, that You will forgive me of my sins and give to me the gift of salvation, from Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

That’s your RSVP to Heaven. If you ask God to forgive you of your sins, He will forgive you, because He is an awesome God. If you are still questioning why God would send people to Hell, remember this: God gave us free will, we chose to sin with it. God gave us a mechanism to go to Heaven, and all you have to do is humble yourself and admit that you were wrong.

In His Service,
Joyce
