All Things

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (NKJV)

Christ gives me the strength to face anything. (Contemporary English Version)

I may all things in him that comforteth me. (Wycliffe New Testament)

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (NIV)

"Father, thank You for these words of encouragement, in their many versions. Lord, may we see the true meaning of this verse, and may it encourage us as we go through our week. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Paul and Timothy said these words. Before, it talks about how he (I'm thinking Paul) knows how to do anything that God calls him to do. In this verse, he says it's because Christ strengthens/comforts him.

I think it's interesting that Wycliffe has it as comforteth, instead of strengthen. God comforts us, and He strengthens us, and both are Him encouraging us.

We've all heard this verse before, but it can be a good reminder. We can do anything through Jesus.

Thanks to the commenter who didn't leave his/her name but answered the question last week of his/her favorite Bible encouragment verse.

Have a great weekend
In His Service,
Joyce

Is the Wycliffe to be trusted? Could the verse be comforteth?
